How to vent a shipping container

To begin with, prior to the venting of the shipping container, you need to decide as to it’s elevation, off the ground.
It would be wise for you to consider an east west lengthwise aspect so the northern sun will assist in heating during the winter months.
The ideal height is 450mm or eighteen inches providing minimal room for inserting any plumbing as may be required.
You will find this high enough to avoid dust ingress through doorways.
Shipping containers, being made of steel, will have a high incidence of moisture precipitation / condensation inside.
The best way to avoid this is to foam spray the internal side of the steel walls before any lining or walling is applied.

Type of Roof Ventilator

The roof ventilators used for venting a shipping container need be pressure responsive.
Commonly known as ‘static or passive’ to the masses, probably to distinguish from the rotary whizbangs.
The pressure responsive type such as the multi venturi Condor as shown.
This is a far superior roof ventilator to those still using old technology.
The Condor employs all aspects of natural phenomena, as wind is not always there when you want it.

This type of venting allows the ingress of a positive flow while creating a negative exhaust.
Much like the way you and I breathe, the difference being that whereas we use our lungs the ventilator uses all of natures energy.
